Frequently asked questions.
What is Launchpad Academy?
Launchpad Academy is a Christian-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that grew out of a small, committed homeschooling community in 2025.
Our focus has been to create a safe, high-trust, family-centered environment where children can develop socially, physically, and spiritually while parents build real community with one another.
We currently offer:
Open Gym — Mondays & Thursdays
Venture Labs — (In development; entrepreneurship & hands-on project building)
What is Open Gym?
Open Gym is an intentionally unstructured social environment designed for kids ages 5–10 to:
Build social confidence
Practice communication and teamwork
Strengthen creativity and imagination
Develop independence
Work through natural conflict in healthy ways
Be physically active in a safe, supervised space
Open Gym takes place in a newly built and furnished Youth Center, outfitted with modern amenities designed with kids and families in mind.

What is Rough-and-Tumble Play?
Rough-and-tumble play is consenting, respectful, honorable physical play that often looks like wrestling or energetic movement.
At Launchpad, this typically happens in the bounce house and is supervised by attentive adults from a distance.
This type of play helps children develop:
Body awareness
Self-control
Social negotiation
Confidence
Cooperative problem-solving
All roughhousing must remain friendly, safe, and mutually agreed upon.
What Do Parents Do During Open Gym?
Launchpad is a high-trust, family-centered environment.
Parents stay on-site and are an active part of the community.
During Open Gym, parents:
Supervise their children
Join in play if they’d like
Build friendships with other parents
Support a calm, respectful environment
Model good communication and cooperation
This is a place where whole families grow — not just kids.
How Much Does It Cost?
Open Gym is completely free for all families.
Because Launchpad Academy is a nonprofit, we offer a suggested donation of $20 per month per family.
These donations:
Help sustain the program
Support equipment upgrades
Keep the space furnished and safe
Allow us to remain free for everyone
Donations are fully tax-deductible as allowed by law.
They are not required and participation is not dependent on giving.
You can donate directly on our website at any time.
Are there any special events?
Yes! There are themed movie nights that typically feature popcorn and cotton candy machines. Students are encouraged to be highly energetic and social.
Why Christianity?
When you remove a biblical worldview, everything becomes confused, unstable, and directionless.
Scripture provides the clarity, order, and moral foundation that society simply cannot replicate on its own.
A biblical worldview gives children and families:
A clear sense of right and wrong
A stable framework for identity and purpose
A consistent standard for how to treat others
A foundation for strong, healthy families
Without it, you end up with whatever the culture invents week to week — and that produces chaos, not character.
Launchpad Academy chooses the biblical worldview because it actually works.
It creates the stability, peace, and moral clarity kids desperately need.
Are You Going to Teach From the Bible?
At this time, Launchpad Academy does not plan to provide formal Bible lessons or structured theological instruction.
Our approach is simple:
We open and close with prayer.
We uphold a biblical worldview in how we lead, model behavior, and resolve conflict.
We offer gentle, age-appropriate mentoring when natural teachable moments arise.
Our focus is on creating a Christ-centered environment through example, culture, and character, not a classroom-style Bible curriculum.
